Assistant Manager of Transportation

Livingston Public Schools is seeking an experienced organized and collaborative Assistant TransportationManagerto support all aspects of the districts transportation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Transportation in ensuring the safe efficient and cost-effective transportation of students to and from school athletic events field trips and other district-sponsored activities. Responsibilities include route planning staff supervision fleet oversight budgeting regulatory compliance and serving as the primary liaison with families school administrators and transportation personnel.

Experience managing a school transportation operation including routing budgeting fleet maintenance personnel supervision and compliance with state transportation regulations are preferred. Strong organizational communication and technology skills are essential. Possession of a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is strongly preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties require the ability to sit stand walk bend reach and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to travel between district locations inspect school buses and transportation facilities and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person by telephone and electronically and possess sufficient visual acuity to review documents inspect vehicles and utilize computer systems.
