The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within our organization is on the lookout for an Interventional Pulmonologist to become part of our vibrant and expanding team. This Division oversees an outpatient clinic, inpatient consultations, and a closed Medical Intensive Care Unit, in addition to managing a fellowship training program in Pulmonary and Critical Care. Our faculty possesses specialized knowledge in areas such as thoracic ultrasound, cystic fibrosis, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, sleep medicine, interventional pulmonology, and rare lung diseases.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree

  • Completion of an Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship and AABIP board certification or eligibility

  • Proficiency in procedures including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, and the management of complex airway diseases

  • A keen interest in working within an academic medical center , focusing on education, research, and quality improvement

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical care to patients facing complex pulmonary and airway conditions.

  • Conduct advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures, which include:

    • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)

    • Navigational bronchoscopy

    • Robotic bronchoscopy

    • Rigid bronchoscopy

    • Airway stenting

    • Tumor debulking and ablation

    • Management of central airway obstruction

    • Bronchoscopic assessment of pulmonary nodules and masses

  • Assess and manage patients with intricate pleural diseases, including pleural effusions, pneumothorax, and malignant pleural conditions.

  • Execute advanced pleural procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter placement, and medical thoracoscopy when appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.

  • Provide education and mentorship to residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers .
