School Mental Health Presenter (Part-Time)

Location: Jefferson City, MO
Schedule: Part-Time, up to 20 Hours/Week
Compensation: $21.00-$23.00 per Hour

Position Overview

CHADS Coalition is seeking an engaging and compassionate School Mental Health Presenter to deliver evidence-based mental health and suicide prevention programs to middle and high school students throughout the Jefferson City, MO area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys public speaking, building relationships, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. Presenters serve as ambassadors of CHADS Coalition's mission by helping students recognize warning signs, reduce stigma, and connect themselves or others to support when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person Signs of Suicide® (SOS) presentations to middle and high school students.
• Facilitate engaging discussions on youth mental health, suicide prevention, and help-seeking behaviors.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, counselors, educators, and students.
• Ensure presentations are delivered in accordance with evidence-based program standards.
• Complete required documentation, attendance records, surveys, and reporting in a timely manner.
• Maintain electronic records and program data.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training opportunities.
• Support community outreach events and other organizational initiatives as needed.
• Promote CHADS Coalition programs and services when appropriate.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, facilitation, or teaching skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation technology.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Hannibal, MO area.
• Availability during school hours, Monday through Friday.

Preferred:

• Experience working with youth in educational, nonprofit, mental health, or community settings.
• Teaching, counseling, facilitation, youth development, or public speaking experience.
• Knowledge of youth mental health, suicide prevention, or social-emotional learning.

CHADS is a 501(c)(3) organization offering Signs of Suicide®, Family Support, and Social Emotional Well-being programs to advance the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide. Aside from providing adolescents and young adults ages 25 and under with counseling services and educational programs, we also serve parents, educators, and community members with resources, presentations, and more to provide a holistic and proactive approach to mental illness and bullying.
