Registered Nurse (RN) - OR

RN – Surgical/Perioperative

Schedule: - Shifts: 9:00–19:30 and 11:00–21:30 (shifts may alternate within the same week) - Call required

Requirements: - License: NY license required - Certifications: BLS; CNOR - Years of experience: 3 years (1 year may be accepted, confirm with facility) - Travel experience: Required - EMR: EPIC charting experience required - Unit-specific skills: General OR and broad specialty case exposure (bariatric, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho/spine, GYN/urology, ENT, plastics/microvascular); minimally invasive/robotic experience (laparoscopic, VATS, Da Vinci Xi); perioperative skills including blood/blood products administration, specimen handling, and infection control; emergency response skills (code response, tracheostomy care, airway/bronchoscopy exposure)

Roles & Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Monitor patients' vital signs and mental status pre-, during, and post-surgery. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. - Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols. - Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care procedures and post-operative instructions.

Compliance / Notes: - COVID-19 vaccine: Not required - Candidates with more than 10 RTO days cannot be submitted - Mandatory local competencies: phlebotomy and IV placement required for all RNs on this unit
