Principal Solutions Architect [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Solutions Architect based in the United States.

As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will play a strategic role in designing and delivering modern data platforms that enable organizations to unlock the full value of their data. Working at the intersection of solution architecture, data engineering, AI, and client consulting, you will guide customers through complex technical challenges while contributing to both pre-sales and implementation efforts. Accountabilities:

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor by partnering with customers to understand business objectives and design scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures using modern cloud technologies.
• Lead solution architecture, technical discovery sessions, and implementation planning while balancing customer-facing consulting engagements with pre-sales activities.
• Design, develop, and oversee end-to-end data engineering solutions that support analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams by presenting technical solutions, delivering demonstrations, and helping prospective customers understand the value of proposed architectures.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects, mentoring engineering teams, establishing implementation standards, and ensuring successful project delivery.
• Evaluate data sources, optimize data integration strategies, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure high standards for data quality, governance, security, and performance.
• Develop detailed technical documentation, implementation roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and solution blueprints while promoting best practices throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Senior Data Engineer, or similar role, with recent hands-on expertise delivering enterprise data solutions using Databricks.
• Strong expertise in modern data engineering technologies, including Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and data architecture best practices.
• Proven experience designing end-to-end analytics platforms, ETL pipelines, data modeling strategies, and production-ready data solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and/or Scala, along with advanced SQL development and optimization skills.
• Experience building AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions using modern data science frameworks.
• Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and consulting skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring engineers, leading architecture discussions, and guiding cross-functional delivery teams.
• Experience with cloud storage platforms, workflow orchestration tools, automated data pipelines, and data integration technologies is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications in Apache Spark, Databricks, Google Cloud, or machine learning technologies are considered a strong advantage.
