Crisis Recovery Center/ Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary We are seeking a registered nurse to provide behavioral health services at the Crisis Recovery Center in Lorain, OH. The role will involve 12‑hour shifts, including nights 7 p‑7 a.m., covering 24‑hour observation, 3.7 withdrawal management services, and 23‑hour observation. Compensation ranges from $29.81 to $36.33 per hour, with a night shift differential of $4 per hour. Position Purpose and Objectives The purpose of this position is to promote the overall physical and mental health of clients through nursing practice, utilizing a Trauma‑Informed Care approach. Essential Job Functions Work closely with physicians or nurse practitioners regarding the care and treatment of clients receiving psychotropic medication. Monitor clients newly prescribed medication or those undergoing medication changes through scheduled appointments. Provide education on the purposes, benefits, risks, and side effects of medications. Conduct physical/mental health assessments and obtain vital signs, blood sugar testing, weights, BMI, waist circumferences, and other relevant parameters. Administer urine drug screening and breathalyzer testing. Provide education on physical/mental wellness in individual and group settings; facilitate groups, clinics, medication groups, and client and family education as appropriate. Assist with the administration of prescribed psychotropic medication, including injections and pill minders. Identify current and potential physical/mental health care needs and assist clients in securing needed care in the community. Collaborate and coordinate linkages with agencies and treatment providers in the community for continued care. Assist with obtaining psychotropic medication via samples or through Central Pharmacy or by calling prescriptions into local pharmacies. Respond to routine and emergency requests for medical assistance. Assist and teach clients and staff about self‑care of medical conditions. Communicate with case managers, counselors, and other treatment team members regarding client care. Complete all necessary documentation for service delivery and provide written communication for services inside and outside the Center. Maintain required productivity expectations. Communicate with case manager technicians to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of Individual Service Plans. Secure medication in accordance with state, federal, and Center medication regulations; provide education and consultation to non‑medical personnel. Promote and support Trauma‑Informed Care implementation and initiatives within the organization. Use the Trauma‑Informed Care approach in collaboration with clients and team members to support recovery. Attend required staff meetings. React to change and stress productively. Perform all other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities After orientation, possess knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues. Exhibit sensitivity to diverse cultures. Requirements / Qualifications Valid Ohio state license as an RN. Experience working in behavioral healthcare preferred. Computer skills including familiarity with Windows and Word applications required; bilingual Spanish/English a plus. Favorable references and/or evaluations required. Educational background and training in trauma‑informed and/or trauma‑specific services is a plus. Working Conditions The work is performed at the Crisis Recovery Center in Lorain, OH. May be required to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds periodically. Must be able to physically interact with clients and others in emergency situations to prevent harm. Must communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Must be able to sit for extended periods due to extensive computer work.
