Location: Elmhurst, NY
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Travel Gross Weekly: $2,300 – $2,500/week (Based on Experience)
Local Pay: $60 – $65/hour (Based on Experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, education, and dietary support to patients. The ideal candidate will collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop appropriate dietary modifications and ensure patients receive individualized nutrition care.

Job Duties

• Screen and assess patients accurately and in a timely manner based on their level of care.
• Determine patients' nutritional needs and status and provide appropriate follow-up care.
• Interview patients and/or their families to obtain information regarding food habits, preferences, and nutritional history.
• Review and interpret relevant laboratory, physical, and social information documented in the medical record as it relates to nutrition care.
• Provide nutrition education to patients and document diet instructions and the patient's understanding of the recommended diet.
• Monitor patients for potential food and drug interactions and provide appropriate education.
• Document food and drug interactions in the appropriate patient education records.
• Consult with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications.
• Modify patient menus as needed based on individual nutritional requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience .

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 2 years of experience preferred.

Required Education

• Graduate from an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a related field .

Preferred Education

• Master's degree preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• New York State Certification issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Dietitian-Nutritionist for post-acute locations.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for acute-care locations.
• Primary Source Verification required where applicable.

Preferred Certifications

• AHA BLS preferred.
