Summary of Responsibilities:The Associate will be part of the team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance deals in BBVA New York.In line with this level position they will have to concentrate on tasks such as preparing presentations, monitoring internal pipelines but keeping an eye on more senior tasks such as documentation of executed deals and, specifically, running financial models of awarded transaction2. List Major/Essential Job Duties:Helping more senior members of the team in underwriting, due diligence, and financial analysis of project finance opportunities in infrastructure and energyMaintenance and assistance with internal apps for both product and creditPreparation of market material for client pitchesPreparation of Information Memos and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities and coordination of bank meetingsHelping more senior members of the team in management of the diligence process from a technical and legal standpoint and overseeing the structuring process through deal closingPortfolio management and information reporting on in process transactions and closed deals, including interaction with finance on fee recognition3. Level of Complexity and Risk Involved:There will be some moderately complex responsibilities in line with the project finance nature of their underlying responsibilities. Although they are not supposed to have detailed knowledge of the product or actual experience, they are supposed to quickly develop a strong understanding of underwriting and risk analysis; including coordination and interaction with other client and product groups within the bank.4. Scope of Duties:Interaction with Madrid team.Maintenance of internal reports and their distribution to the appropriate areas.Understanding and development of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, derivative instrumentsClient meeting participation when practicalPreparation and monitoring of the loan closing processIdentification and use of research and toolsParticipation in due diligence and legal meetings5. Skills, knowledge, and abilities/competencies:Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field4+ years of experience working in corporate and/or investment banking related to Project Finance and/or experience in construction energy firms related to project finance is requiredFormal credit training a strong plusFluent in English a must, preference for Spanish fluencyCommunication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a team environment and under tight deadlinesUnderstanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCF analysisProficient in ALL Microsoft Office ToolsStrong Excel and PowerPoint necessary, BloombergAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $115,000 to $130,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.
