Pediatric Optometrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Optometrist to join our outpatient department. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive eye care to primarily pediatric patients, including those with developmental delays, sensory issues, and complex binocular vision needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a total of 5 shifts per week. The provider will support a team of techs, ophthalmologists, and optometrists, and will be responsible for patient work-ups, exams, and some contact lens fittings, including complex pediatric fittings. The department utilizes Epic EMR and is equipped with all necessary imaging devices.

• Support staff: techs, ophthalmologists, optometrists
• Coverage: full-time, 5 shifts/week
• Patients per day: 12-14, with 30-minute appointments starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 4:30 PM
• Patient population: mostly pediatric, some adults with developmental delays and double vision (not mandatory to see adult patients)
• Department handles high-acuity pediatric cases, including patients on the spectrum and co-managed with other specialties
• Responsibilities: conduct vision exams, manage complex contact lens fittings, work with diverse patient cognitive abilities
• EMR: Epic

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree; pediatric residency highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with pediatric populations in a medical center setting (if no residency, then at least 3 years of pediatric experience)
• CA state license required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with pediatric optometry and binocular vision exams, including strabismus and complex contact lens fitting
• Ability to manage high-acuity pediatric patients and work with diverse developmental and cognitive abilities

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
