Event Planner, VP - Corporate Affairs

Responsibilities

• Support the event lifecycle for in‑person and hybrid events across all U.S. business units, from initial request through execution and post‑event reporting.
• Manage multiple work streams concurrently, prioritizing complexity and level of stakeholder involvement to advance initiatives.
• Collaborate with client teams to provide guidance on agenda building, material design, speaker selection, and presentation idea generation.
• Drive innovation within the team, fostering a willingness to experiment and balancing big‑picture thinking with tactical execution.
• Develop and maintain accurate budgets, negotiate cost savings, reconcile actual expenses, and assist in preparing post‑event analysis reports that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Collaborate with production and technology teams to enhance audience experience, applying expertise in the production process and audio‑visual requirements to influence event technology efforts for global audiences.
• Submit RFPs, recommend venue ideas and selections, lead contract negotiation, and manage vendor service levels to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support on‑site execution, staffing, and vendor management, contributing to the overall success of events.
• Oversee key relationships across Blackstone businesses, presenting annual event budgets, providing input on event strategies, and gathering stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in event planning and management within a dynamic corporate organization.
• Strong knowledge of venues and vendors in New York and across the United States.
• Proven track record of developing business relationships at all professional levels, including C‑suite executives and partners.
• Self‑motivated problem solver with professional integrity, initiative, and leadership skills.
• Hands‑on experience with the Cvent event management and registration platform.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and events while maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to adapt style to the situation and willingness to travel as needed for events.

Salary and Benefits

Expected annual base salary range: $150,000 - $225,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the U.S., please disregard the posted salary bands; compensation will be based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits include comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and FSA), paid time off, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
