Overview Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti-poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. Through 70+ programs, we support over 35,000 adults and children each year, including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, seniors, and children with developmental delays. Position Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Location: New York, NY 10023 Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED and current Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) by NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. Minimum of one year of social services experience in treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, and crisis intervention. Principal Responsibilities Provide appropriate counseling services to individuals with specialized needs as defined in the service plan. Develop service plans with clients which address individualized needs. Maintain client records. Maintain linkages with community treatment providers. Complete accurate and comprehensive service delivery reports.
