In short, We Enable Possibility.Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for leading the global income tax reporting function, including quarterly and annual tax provision processes, financial statement disclosures, and related compliance across the Arch group. The position oversees global tax consolidation (including 10-K reporting) and ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of tax reporting across all jurisdictions. The Director partners closely with Finance leadership, business units, and external advisors to manage tax reporting, evaluate the impact of global tax developments, and support strategic business initiatives.This role is hybrid, with two days in the White Plains, NY or Greensboro, NC office and three days remote.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the global income tax provision (ASC 740), including quarterly and annual reporting, consolidation, and financial statement disclosuresOversee external tax reporting included in 10-K / 10-Q and statutory reportsCoordinate global tax reporting across U.S. and international entitiesEvaluate impact of global tax developments (e.g., Pillar Two, Bermuda tax changes)Own tax-related SOX controls and interface with internal and external auditorsPartner on non-routine transactions and document tax provision implicationsSupport tax audits and inquiries, including IRS auditsDrive process improvements and automation initiativesSupport tax planning and modeling, including forecasting and scenario analysisProvide leadership and development support to the tax teamQualifications7-10+ years of tax accounting and reporting experience in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) and/or industry; insurance industry experience is a plus but not requiredStrong ASC 740 tax provision experience, including effective tax rate analysis and income tax disclosuresExperience with global tax reporting, consolidation, and multi-jurisdictional operationsAbility to evaluate and document the tax accounting implications of global tax developments, non-routine transactions, and strategic business initiativesExperience with tax-related SOX controls and working with internal and external auditorsExperience supporting tax audits and inquiries, including IRS examinationsStrong analytical, research, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with tax provision, reporting, and compliance softwareStrong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience leading, developing, and mentoring team membersFor individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.For White Plains $130,000 - $175,000/yearFor Greensboro $100,700 - $150,000/yearTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
