The position ensures compliance with safety standards, production targets, and cGMP requirements while supervising operators, coordinating maintenance activities, and maintaining accurate production documentation.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFirst line responsibility for the safe operation of chemical operations, the manufacturing process, and all operations, maintenance, or work taking place during their shiftDirect the appropriate response to a safety incident or other emergency until the emergency chain of command arrivesReinforce and ensure plant safety practices and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions on a daily basisLead or participate in Incident and Discrepancy Investigations as necessaryResponsible for the proper issuance of any work permits, including Lockout/Tag OutKeep Production Supervisors and Management informed regarding the state of operations and production needs that must be addressedAddress substandard performance in a fair and timely mannerEnsure efficient operations to meet production demands and schedulesLead improvement projects within the plantMaintain organization and cleanliness of the production floorIdentify when modifications to SOPs are necessary for safety reasons, quality concerns, or operational efficiencyIdentify and potentially assist with maintenance repairsResponsible for daily scheduling and maintaining vacation time records for operators on the crewAssign overtime as required to meet production requirementsCommunicate with vendors for ordering, pick up, and delivery of materialsTrain operators on proper operation, maintenance, safety procedures, system set-up, and housekeeping requirements for assigned tasksEnsure proper production startups, shutdowns, and changeoversEnsure accurate production logs are maintained daily, including an accurate shift supervisor log of all events occurring during the shiftCoordinate with Manufacturing and Maintenance personnel regarding maintenance work required on equipmentReview manufacturing batch records to ensure completeness and accuracy before submission to Quality AssuranceDrive cGMP standards within the Manufacturing area including training of operatorsWork with QA and QC to ensure processes and materials meet all quality specificationsLead SFTI and 5S efforts in the Manufacturing area and support associated projects and improvementsKey Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities every person must possess to be successful)Critical Thinking — using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsExcellent customer service skills and professional demeanor to interface effectively with internal and external customersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCreative and able to present various solutionsEnergetic, enthusiastic, and motivational dispositionAbility to maintain confidentialityCoaching skillsAdditional competencies reflected in the role:Strong troubleshooting skillsCommitment to safety and environmental standardsAbility to multitask, evaluate available resources, and delegate duties effectivelyEducation/ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience as a chemical plant operatorMinimum 2–3 years of experience as a floor supervisor in a plant environmentHigh School Diploma required; college degree preferredMechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to perform minor repairs and maintenanceFamiliarity and operating experience with production processesGood written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsBasic computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and OutlookFamiliarity with cGMP and related regulatory requirementsAbility to multitask, evaluate resources, and delegate tasks to ensure adherence to schedules #J-18808-Ljbffr Piramal Critical Care, Inc.
