Financial Service Representative (Loan Officer)

The Financial Service Representative (FSR) I assesses and meets member needs by using AAA skills to assess, advise, and assist members with their financial needs. FSRs provide value through loan servicing transactions and cross‑selling products and services to help members achieve their goals. Location Phoenix Tatum Blvd Branch, 10810 N Tatum Blvd #114, Phoenix, AZ 85028 Schedule Full Time; Monday – Friday 8:45am – 6:15pm; rotating Saturdays 8:45am – 2:15pm Benefits Competitive pay of $19.00 per hour plus incentives and a $2.00 per hour location allowance in AZ branches. Responsibilities Provide exceptional member service by assessing member needs and advising on products and services that improve financial situations. Open new accounts, service existing accounts, and explain products and services that best suit members’ needs. Educate members on options for managing transactions through MACU tools, resources, and technology. Cross‑sell products and services through a consultation approach and use lead lists for outbound calls. Resolve member complaints, determine causes, provide solutions, and follow up to ensure satisfaction. Perform loan origination duties including accepting, reviewing, and approving loan applications; interviewing applicants; preparing documentation; initiating credit reports; and conducting closings for home equity, personal, and auto loans. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including BSA, OFAC, FACT, GLBA, Regulation CC, Regulation DD, and others. Act as a liaison to Business Services, outreach to community through outbound calls and SEG events, and perform teller duties as needed. Represent the credit union professionally in dress and conduct, maintain a clean work area, and respond to emails and voicemail in a timely manner. Actively participate in and complete product knowledge courses; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications At least 1+ year of retail banking or related sales and customer service experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license for travel. Ability to prepare loan documents, cross‑sell financial services, perform mathematical calculations, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Basic computer operating skills; beginner‑to‑intermediate Microsoft Office; preferred 35 words per minute and Symitar experience. Must qualify annually as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E Act Registration. Training to be completed: Mountain America Accounts and Lending required regulatory and compliance trainings; notary public and NMLS certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to handle multiple member activities while maintaining composure. Strong communication skills and confidence in recommending credit union products. Physical Demands Talk, hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch occasionally. Lift up to 10pounds consistently and up to 50pounds occasionally. Close vision at 20inches or less; distance vision at 20feet or more.
