About the job Speech Language Pathologist ( School Based) School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: Grove Hill, AL (Clarke County Schools) Compensation: $32.00 – $42.00 / Hour (Target: $36/hr) Job Type: Part-Time (Contract) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Grove Hill. This part-time role is essential for helping students in Clarke County overcome communication barriers that impact their learning and social development. Working in a rural school setting, you will be a key advocate for students with diverse needs, from early childhood through high school. Key Responsibilities Direct Student Therapy: Provide targeted speech and language therapy to students with articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders as specified in their IEPs. IEP Development: Lead and participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, including drafting measurable goals and attending meetings with parents and educators. Evaluations: Administer standardized assessments to identify communication disorders and determine eligibility for special education services. Collaborative Care: Partner with classroom teachers to integrate communication strategies into the daily curriculum and support "push-in" therapy models where appropriate. Documentation: Maintain precise and timely records of student progress and service minutes using the Alabama-mandated SETS (Special Education Tracking System). Supervision (If Applicable): Provide clinical guidance to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows (CFYs) if required by the district. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders. Current ALSDE Professional Educator Certificate (Class A). Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Alabama Special Education rules and IDEA regulations. Background Check: Ability to pass a mandatory Alabama State Department of Education background check and fingerprinting. Soft Skills: Strong independent work ethic and the ability to build rapport with families in a small-town community. Why Grove Hill?
