Aerospace MachinistBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Machinist, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. The Aerospace Machinist will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift, and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.Job Summary: The successful candidate will under general supervision perform technical, mechanical, electrical, and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an engineering test facility.Supplementary Functions:Participation in functional specific safety trainingMust be able to work in a team atmosphereMust put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperationGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or othersJob Duties:Prepares test facility equipment for operationsPrepares test articles for testing, install test articles, and checks installationsTroubleshoots equipment, test articles, and installations in case of malfunctionsOperates plant and test equipment during testsAssists in test and operates test articles such as controls for engines and rocketsRemoves test articles after testsInstalls and maintains facility systemsAccomplishes maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operationUses a wide variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring and testing equipmentInstructs less experienced lower-lever grade craftsmanIt is a condition of employment to wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and Company PolicyPerform other work as requiredBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentFour years of machinist experience in the working section of an aeronautical test facility operation or six years of experience as an outside machinist, machinist, millwright, aircraft mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanicValid State Driver's LicenseMust be able to read, write, and communicate in English to safely understand and execute technical manuals, technical drawings, diagrams, sketches, safety procedures, and operational instructionsMust be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and satisfy requirements for access to the AEDC local area networkCurrent U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Defense security and federal contract requirements at AEDCPreferred Qualifications:Basic and/or Advanced Rigging TrainingActive Secret clearanceAbility to skillfully operate and work with the wide variety of hand and machine tools associated with tradeWhat We Offer:Competitive salariesContinuing education assistanceMultiple healthcare benefits packages401K with employer matchingVacation and Sick Leave along with a federally recognized holiday scheduleWho We Are:Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is a fully populated joint venture of Astrion and Fluor Federal Services, Inc. formed to provide unmatched Test Operations and Sustainment services for the Arnold Engineering and Development Complex.We chose our name to serve as an enduring reminder of our commitment to AEDC's rich aerospace research and development legacy anchored in AEDC's Towards New Horizons founding study and the unprecedented opportunities to greatly expand AEDC's capabilities and capacity Beyond those existing today.
