JOB OVERVIEWProvide Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) support and research for The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford SiteRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESSCOPE OF WORKProvides detailed research evaluations to ensure that credible engineering input based upon sound scientific principles can be utilized by the WTP in support of its mission.Provides technical oversight of manuscripts prepared by Enhanced Waste Glass program performers for submission to high impact professional journals.Contributes to operational risk reduction.Participates in the specification of a methodology for evaluating new glass forming chemical sources and evaluation of the needed sources.Evaluates and contributes to matrixes of glass productions.Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Senior Research Engineer shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Senior Research Engineer employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.QualificationsDesired Qualifications For A GSSC Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert (PR0168) | Full-Time [W-2] Candidates:The Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / QualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSWaste Treatment and Immoblization Plant Glass Subject Matter Expert personnel shall possess the following minimum qualifications:Education – MS or higher degree in engineering or physical science. Nine (9) years of experience may be substituted for MS degree.Experience – Nine (9) years of directly applicable successful experience as a management consultant or senior manager.
