Registered Nurse - L&D

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery (L&D) for a 13-week contract to provide comprehensive, family-centered care for mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, immediate postpartum recovery, and newborn transition. The RN will independently manage obstetric patients in a low-volume unit while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based maternal and neonatal care. Candidates should be adaptable, clinically confident, and comfortable working in a remote healthcare setting.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current RN license (any U.S. state or territory) required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• AHA NRP certification required
• AWHONN certification required
• Ability to independently care for Labor & Delivery, OB Triage, Immediate Postpartum, and Newborn Transition patients
• Strong fetal monitoring, maternal assessment, neonatal stabilization, and critical thinking skills
• Flexibility to work assigned schedules without special scheduling accommodations

Responsibilities include performing maternal and fetal assessments, monitoring labor progression, assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, providing fetal heart rate interpretation, administering medications and treatments, caring for mothers during immediate postpartum recovery, performing newborn assessments and stabilization, supporting breastfeeding and patient education, responding to obstetric emergencies, documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record, collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and delivering safe, compassionate, evidence-based care throughout the labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn transition process.
