An onsite, full-time Special Education Teacher is needed to support a self-contained Kindergarten Autism classroom, providing vital learning experiences for young students on the autism spectrum. This opening runs through May 26, 2027 (subject to change), offering the chance to shape lives each day in an engaging, supportive setting.
Your skills and compassion will be critical in ensuring these students reach their fullest potential. If you’re familiar with constructing compliant IEPs and implementing effective behavior management techniques, your background could be the perfect fit for this role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Educator Certification and IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Demonstrated experience with students diagnosed with autism
- Thorough knowledge of visual supports and their use in the classroom
- Proven ability to craft well-documented, compliant IEPs
- Background in behavior management strategies within a self-contained program
- Dedication to differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs of Kindergarten students with autism
- Leverage visuals and structured routines to foster communication and independence
- Manage classroom behaviors with proactive, evidence-based approaches
- Complete and maintain accurate, compliant IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and engagement for all learners
