Sheehan Phinney is a well-established New-England-based law firm that represents sophisticated businesses of all sizes in complex areas of law including business litigation. We have an opening for a Litigation Paralegal who wants to do meaningful work in a team environment.

Responsibilities include: assisting attorneys with all phases of commercial litigation matters, including drafting, revising, proofreading, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents; managing and maintaining case files, calendars, and deadlines; coordinating and overseeing document productions, including organizing, reviewing, indexing, and preparing exhibits; scheduling depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and expert consultations; conducting factual and legal research, cite-checking, and investigation support as directed by attorneys; filing documents electronically in state and federal courts and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and procedures; communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and experts; assisting with trial preparation; organizing and summarizing medical, financial, business, and corporate records; and monitoring litigation deadlines and assisting with docketing and case management systems, along with other tasks as assigned.

Substantive work is billable, with a 1,400-hour annual target. The Litigation Paralegal is expected to track billable time and assist with matter budgeting and cost management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, with 5+ years of directly applicable litigation paralegal experience. Paralegal certification preferred. Also required is a working knowledge of legal terminology and substantive e-filing experience. Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software applications (including e-filing platforms). EEO
