Job Title: Supervisor - 2nd Shift Location: Marion, VA Employment Type: Full-time hourly Starting Salary: Based on experience Work Environment: Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm with OT as required Job Summary Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing activities that occur within their assigned area of oversight. They ensure adherence to functional best practices and provide internal customer service so that Woodgrain goals and objectives can be achieved. They oversee safety, cleanliness, material handling activities, personnel, compliance with policies, and team performance. Duties and Responsibilities Champion Safety. Collect daily, weekly, and monthly safety, quality control, production, attendance, and training data to forward to the appropriate department. Continually develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate waste and improve quality and employee performance. Work well with a wide variety of individuals both internal and external to Woodgrain Millwork. Actively engage in continuous improvement projects. Manage employee attendance according to policy, consistently and fairly. Ensure all production equipment is kept in good repair, remove unsafe equipment from operation, and complete proper maintenance when necessary. Support employees to take an active role in process and safety improvements. Provide direct reports with regular, objective, constructive feedback regarding performance and expectations. Keep the chain of command informed of overall performance of direct reports, issues requiring disciplinary action, and staffing adjustments. Partner with Human Resources on all company policies, procedures, and employee relation situations. Be computer literate with strong ability to learn, optimize, and instruct others on software applications. Be capable of safely and accurately operating production equipment. Obtain and remain current on required certifications and training. Requirements 3-5 years of supervisory experience/leadership in a production environment. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Proven positive leadership. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). SAP experience a plus. Physical Demands Hearing: Must be able to hear clear verbal communication, sounds, and horns all workday. Mobility: Stand, walk, use hands, fingers, stoop, twist, bend approximately 20% of work schedule. Communication: Must clearly communicate written and verbally 100% of workday. Lifting: Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, between ground and shoulder level. Operate moving mechanical parts, machines, vehicles. Work in close proximity with coworkers in small purchasing environment. Wear PPE in loud manufacturing environment. Exposure to drafts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures.
