Logistics Coordinator

MissionThe Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring inbound, internal, and outbound logistics activities supporting automotive ladder frame manufacturing operations. This role ensures uninterrupted material flow from suppliers through production and shipment to OEM customers, while maintaining inventory accuracy, delivery performance, transportation efficiency, and compliance with automotive industry requirements.The position plays a critical role in supporting high-volume Just-In-Time (JIT) and Just-In-Sequence (JIS) operations for welded ladder frame assemblies, including coordination of stamped components, welding consumables, subassemblies, returnable packaging, and finished frame shipments.Inbound Logistics & Material PlanningCoordinate inbound shipments of raw materials, stamped components, purchased parts, welding consumables, racks, and packaging from suppliers.Monitor supplier delivery schedules to support production requirements and avoid downtime.Ensure ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) accuracy and timely receipt processing.Work closely with Purchasing, Production Planning, and suppliers to resolve material shortages and expedite critical components.Track transportation performance and escalate delivery risks that may impact production.Production Logistics / Internal Material FlowCoordinate material movement between receiving, warehouse, welding lines, e-coat/paint operations, sequencing areas, and shipping docks.Support line-side delivery strategies for ladder frame welding and assembly operations.Maintain FIFO compliance, material traceability, and inventory staging aligned with daily build schedules.Coordinate empty rack and returnable container management to support production continuity.Outbound Logistics & Customer ShipmentsCoordinate shipments of finished ladder frames to OEM assembly plants and customer distribution centers.Ensure on-time delivery performance in accordance with OEM shipping windows and EDI requirements.Prepare shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing slips, labels, customs documents, and export paperwork when applicable.Coordinate premium freight activities when required and support cost reduction initiatives.ERP / Systems CoordinationUtilize ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory transactions, shipment tracking, and logistics reporting.Maintain accurate logistics data within SAP, Plex, QAD, Oracle, or similar manufacturing systems.Support EDI transactions with OEM customers and suppliers, including ASN accuracy and shipment confirmations.Generate daily logistics KPI reports covering delivery performance, inventory accuracy, freight costs, premium freight, dock-to-stock timing, and supplier delivery metrics.Continuous Improvement & ComplianceSupport lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations.Participate in PFMEA, control plans, layered audits, and operational reviews.Drive improvements in warehouse efficiency, transportation utilization, inventory management, and material flow.Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, MMOG/LE, and automotive logistics standards.RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent automotive manufacturing experience may be considered.Technical Qualification3-5+ years of logistics, supply chain, warehouse, materials coordination, or transportation experience in automotive manufacturing.Experience in a Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environment preferred.Experience supporting welded structures, chassis, ladder frame, BIW, or heavy automotive assemblies is strongly preferred.Experience with JIT/JIS manufacturing operations and OEM shipping requirements preferred.Strong understanding of automotive logistics, internal material flow, inventory control, FIFO, traceability, and dock operations.Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Plex, QAD, Oracle, or similar platforms.Knowledge of EDI transactions, ASN accuracy, shipping documentation, customs/export documentation, and OEM shipping windows.Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills; familiarity with barcode scanning and inventory management systems.Knowledge of returnable container management, sequencing operations, transportation management systems (TMS), lean manufacturing, and MMOG/LE standards is preferred.Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and cross-functional coordination skills in a fast-paced production environment.Behavioral SkillsCompetencyOrganizational SkillsAttention to DetailAdaptabilityEffective CommunicationCustomer FocusProblem SolvingDecision-makingContinuous Improvement MindsetSafety and Quality Culture MindsetAbility to work and promote teamworkKPIsOn-time delivery performance to OEM customers.Inventory accuracy and cycle count performance.Reduction of premium freight occurrences and logistics costs.Supplier delivery performance and escalation response time.Dock-to-stock timing and receiving process efficiency.ASN / EDI accuracy and shipping documentation compliance.Returnable container availability and control.Special ConditionsManufacturing plant environment with frequent interaction on the production floor, warehouse areas, receiving docks, and shipping docks.May require occasional overtime, weekend support, or off-shift coverage to support production schedules and customer requirements.Ability to walk the production floor, shipping docks, and warehouse areas regularly.Availability for occasional local, national, or international travel if required. #J-18808-Ljbffr SODECIA - AAPICO JV LLC
