Custodian PositionThe Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of CVG's manufacturing plant, including production floors, offices, restrooms, and common areas. This role ensures a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment for all employees by following established safety protocols and cleaning procedures, and by supporting plant operations and special projects as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Cleaning & Facility MaintenanceSweep, mop, and vacuum floors in production areas, offices, restrooms, and common areas; empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure waste is disposed of properly; dust and wipe down surfaces including workstations, equipment, and furniture to maintain a clean and dust-free environment.Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels; report any maintenance issues promptly; use appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals to clean manufacturing equipment and machinery as required, following all safety and operational guidelines.Safety, Spill Response & Supply ManagementPromptly clean up spills and other hazards to ensure a safe work environment; report any incidents or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately; follow all safety protocols and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished; ensure cleaning tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order; work closely with other maintenance staff and plant employees to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.Special Projects & CollaborationAssist with setting up for company events, meetings, and other activities as needed; provide additional support during plant shutdowns or deep cleaning initiatives; perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred; basic reading comprehension and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting; strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance.Preferred Qualifications & Desired CharacteristicsExperience with industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment; familiarity with OSHA safety standards and proper PPE use in a manufacturing environment.Experience supporting facility maintenance or deep cleaning projects during planned shutdowns.A dependable, detail-oriented custodian who takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe facility, supports teammates and plant operations, and contributes to CVG's culture of safety and continuous improvement.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to work in various environmental conditions; reliable attendance and punctuality.Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of workplace safety practices; basic verbal and written communication skills to report issues and follow instructions; ability to work independently or as part of a team.CVG IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERCommercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.Visa SponsorshipAt this time, we are not providing sponsorship for this role.
