Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) to join a healthcare facility in Council Bluffs, IA. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of recent L&D experience and be skilled in providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process, particularly during night shifts. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, including fetal heart rate monitoring Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery procedures Administer medications, IV therapies, and epidurals as ordered Support and educate patients and families throughout the childbirth process Respond to obstetric emergencies and perform appropriate interventions Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EMR systems Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery nursing Active RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact state license) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required Fetal Monitoring certification preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and patient care abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, especially during night shifts #J-18808-Ljbffr TravelNurseSource
