Job Title: Warehouse Loader/Driver

Job Description

This role supports daily warehouse operations by packing and staging heavy palletized orders, operating a sit-down forklift, and completing local deliveries using a manual-transmission truck. You work closely with the warehouse manager to ensure customer orders containing sand are accurately prepared, safely loaded, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Pack and stage large, heavy palletized customer orders containing sand according to order details from the computer system.
• Clock in at the start of the shift and retrieve assigned orders from the computer to plan and organize daily tasks.
• Build and wrap pallets securely to ensure safe transport and prevent product damage during loading and delivery.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets from staging areas to the loading dock in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist the warehouse manager with loading pallets onto trucks, ensuring loads are balanced and properly secured.
• Drive a manual-transmission truck to deliver orders to customer sites as needed, following all traffic and safety regulations.
• Use a valid CDL Class A or B license to operate a manual transmission delivery vehicle in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift while maintaining safe lifting techniques.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines within the warehouse and during deliveries to minimize risk of accidents or injuries.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including staging zones, loading docks, and vehicles.
• Communicate clearly with the warehouse manager and team members to coordinate order priorities and resolve any issues.
• Work a first-shift schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while remaining flexible for minimal overtime when required.

Essential Skills

• Valid CDL Class A or B license.
• Ability to drive a manual-transmission (stick shift) truck for customer deliveries.
• Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Experience performing general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and staging materials.
• Capability to read and follow orders from a computer system accurately.
• Strong focus on safety when operating forklifts, handling heavy pallets, and driving delivery vehicles.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work first shift hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a warehouse loader or in a similar material handling role.
• Comfort working with large, heavy palletized products such as sand or other bulk materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a warehouse manager and small team.
• Basic organizational skills to manage multiple orders and staging areas efficiently.
• Willingness to assist with both warehouse tasks and driving responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small warehouse facility where you work closely with the warehouse manager and a compact team. You primarily work first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with minimal overtime. The environment involves frequent use of a sit-down forklift, handling heavy pallets of sand, and working around loading docks and staging areas. You also spend some days driving a CDL truck with a manual transmission to customer sites. The facility setting is practical and industrial, focused on efficient order fulfillment and safe material handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
