Maintenance Manager

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability operations at a major chemical manufacturing facility just outside of Bay Town, Texas. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing mechanical reliability, maintenance execution, contractor management, and workforce development to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of a continuous process manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance team of approximately 25–30 personnel across mechanical maintenance and reliability functions Oversee site-wide maintenance, reliability, and construction activities to maximise equipment availability, operational performance, and asset reliability Serve as the primary site contact for approximately 80 resident contractor maintenance and construction personnel, ensuring safe execution, performance management, and cost control Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies aligned with reliability programs, asset plans, and operational priorities Drive maintenance work management improvements including planning, scheduling, backlog reduction, execution quality, and productivity improvements Ensure maintenance activities comply with Process Safety Management (PSM), mechanical integrity standards, regulatory requirements, and company safety procedures Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership, field engagement, coaching, and reinforcement of safe work practices Manage maintenance resources, staffing plans, skills development, and workforce capability to support 24/7 continuous operations Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs focused on safety, cost, equipment reliability, schedule compliance, execution quality, and productivity Lead continuous improvement initiatives including structured problem solving, root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and maintenance process optimisation Support site budgeting activities, contractor strategy, resource planning, and cost control initiatives Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Technical Services, Supply Chain, and site leadership teams to improve plant performance and asset availability Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent maintenance leadership experience Minimum 15 years of progressive experience within chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environments Minimum 10 years of leadership experience managing maintenance, engineering, operations, or technical teams Proven experience leading multi-skilled maintenance teams including supervisors, technicians, and craft personnel Strong background in mechanical reliability, maintenance execution, and asset management within continuous process manufacturing environments Experience managing contractor maintenance and construction resources within an industrial facility Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), mechanical integrity programs, and regulatory compliance requirements Experience operating within 24/7 manufacturing environments with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational excellence Strong knowledge of CMMS-based maintenance systems, planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance programs Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills Preferred Experience Chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or other high-hazard process industry experience Experience managing large maintenance organisations within complex manufacturing facilities Reliability engineering, asset management, and continuous improvement experience Experience implementing maintenance best practices including RCM, RCA, FMEA, and reliability improvement initiatives Strong contractor management and vendor relationship experience Experience leading organisational development, workforce training, and maintenance capability improvement programs What\'s on Offer Senior leadership opportunity within a global chemical manufacturing organisation Ability to shape maintenance strategy, reliability programs, and workforce capability at a major industrial facility Opportunity to lead a large maintenance organisation and influence long-term asset performance Exposure to complex chemical manufacturing operations and advanced reliability practices Collaborative environment working alongside Operations, Engineering, Technical Services, and site leadership teams Long-term career growth with an international organisation supporting essential chemical products used worldwide Annual bonus opportunity Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans Health Equity health fund for health and dependent care 401(k) plan with company match and profit-sharing contribution Company-paid life insurance and AD&D coverage Disability benefits Paid time off and work-life balance initiatives Ongoing training, leadership development, and career progression opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr Ember Grey
