Full Time

1. Leads the Budget Department in the preparation of the District’s annual budget.
2. Manages the daily operations of the Budget Department including supervising staff.
3. Directs the preparation and administration of the annual operating and other major budgets which includes responsibility for developing all preliminary information for management.
4. Reviews proposed budgets submitted by campuses and departments and develop recommended budgets.
5. Reviews and approves budget transfers and amendments.
6. Reviews financial and performance data for compliance with District policies and adherence to budget appropriations
7. Assists in developing revenue projections, expenditure forecasts, and other management reports.
8. Assists in monitoring actual revenues and expenditures, analyzing variance from forecasts and budgets, and documenting reasons for variations.
9. Conducts budget/policy research studies, prepares research reports, assists in developing budget strategies, and recommends policy changes based on study results.
10. Develops staff development training and coordinate District training on necessary and appropriate budgetary procedures.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Budget and Finance or Deputy Superintendent for Business and Finance.

● Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or a closely related field.
● Appropriate budget preparation and planning experience at a major institution, with knowledge of fund accounting; Texas school district experience (preferred).
● Appropriate experience supervising budget or business office staff
● Appropriate experience to communicate effectively, manage multiple projects, and analyze and prepare budget and financial data
● Appropriate experience in computer processes, operations, interfaces with various systems, spreadsheet, and database applications
● External candidates must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by candidate.

MAXIMUM SALARY: $88,942
MIMIMUM SALARY: $120,331
