Provide substance use counseling to adults with co-occurring disorders in outpatient and community-based settings. Reporting to the behavioral health manager and clinical supervisor, this role emphasizes individual counseling, group counseling, and case management while supporting clients throughout their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client assessments for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
- Provide individual counseling using appropriate substance abuse counseling approaches.
- Facilitate group counseling sessions in outpatient and community-based settings.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Coordinate referrals and connect clients with appropriate services.
- Provide case management and monitor client recovery progress.
- Educate families about recovery and available support services.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in substance abuse counseling.
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential.
- State substance abuse counseling certification or license.
- Knowledge of substance abuse counseling, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
- Strong active listening and cultural competence skills.
