Cost Estimator
Prepare cost estimates for projects to aid in bidding and determining the price of products and services.
Responsibilities include:
- Estimating all costs of projects, including raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation.
- Collecting, classifying, and analyzing historical data.
- Reading blueprints or architectural drawings to determine necessary resources for projects within budgetary constraints.
- Determining necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
- Performing bid sheet preparation (Excel), soliciting subcontractor proposals, advertisements as needed, take-offs, attending pre-bid walks.
- Identifying qualified subcontractors/suppliers.
- Reviewing quotes for completeness with plans and specifications.
- Assisting with timely completion of all client-required prequal packages.
- Reviewing subcontractor proposals prior to contract issuance for complete work scopes.
- Assisting field personnel with estimating Change Orders, RFPs, and clarification of RFI's.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets and buy-outs.
