Photographer

As a photographer for Missouri Reign will be responsible for capturing and producing high-quality video content that supports both the coaching staff and the organization’s media presence. This role involves filming games, practices, and team events; managing equipment; and ensuring footage is delivered in a timely and organized manner. The Videographer will play an important role in helping coaches analyze performance, while also contributing to the creation of engaging content for fans and sponsors. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Primary Duties: Operate and manage photography equipment to capture matches, training sessions, team events, and promotional activities. Produce clear, professional quality images with strong composition, framing, focus, and lighting. Capture creative content for social media, website, marketing, merchandise, and promotional use. Document the players, staff members, supporters, and overall experience surrounding both programs. Game Coverage: Photograph home matches and travel to select away matches as needed. Capture important plays, goals, celebrations, player reactions, sideline moments, staff interactions, and supporter engagement. Arrive early on match days to prepare equipment and capture pregame activities. Remain available after matches to photograph celebrations, player interactions, supporter engagement, and other requested content. Provide balanced coverage of the entire team throughout the season. Training and Team Support: Attend selected training sessions to capture action shots and behind the scenes content. Work with coaches and the social media team to focus on specific players, activities, announcements, and content needs. Capture images that can be used for player development features, team updates, promotional materials, and future campaigns. Assist with team photos, individual player photos, staff photos, and other scheduled photography sessions. Photo Selection and Editing: Review photographs following matches, training sessions, and team events. Select the strongest images based on quality, relevance, and storytelling value. Edit photographs for lighting, color, cropping, clarity, and consistency. Deliver a selection of edited images within the established timeline after each assignment. Maintain a consistent visual style that reflects the branding of Missouri Reign and AFC Columbia. Photo Management and Archiving: Upload and organize photographs following matches, training sessions, and events. Label and sort images by team, date, event, player, and content type when appropriate. Maintain a clear archiving system that allows coaches, media staff, and team leadership to locate images easily. Store backups securely to prevent the loss of original and edited content. Help maintain an organized library of images for future marketing and historical use. Communicate regularly with the social media team, web design team, coaches, and team leadership to understand photography needs. Provide properly sized and edited images for social media posts, website updates, player announcements, graphics, and promotional materials. Coordinate with videographers and other media staff to ensure complete event coverage. Assist with special photography requests for sponsorships, merchandise, community events, team announcements, and promotional campaigns. Respond professionally to feedback and adjust coverage based on team priorities. Brand and Content Support: Capture images that strengthen the identity and public presentation of both programs. Ensure photographs used publicly reflect the teams in a professional and positive manner. Work with the social media and web design teams to keep current photographs available across all platforms. Provide sponsor related photographs when needed to support partnership agreements and promotional commitments. Identify creative opportunities to tell the stories of players, staff members, supporters, and the community. Equipment Care: Keep cameras, lenses, memory cards, batteries, lighting equipment, and accessories in good working condition. Charge batteries, clear memory cards, and prepare equipment before each assignment. Perform routine equipment checks and address technical issues promptly. Coordinate repairs or replacements with team leadership when necessary. Use team owned equipment responsibly and return all items to their proper location after use. Event and Promotional Photography: Photograph team events, supporter activities, clinics, tryouts, community appearances, and promotional shoots. Assist with staged photography for player announcements, merchandise releases, sponsorships, and marketing campaigns. Help organize individuals and groups during scheduled photography sessions. Ensure requested photographs are completed efficiently and delivered to the appropriate departments. Professional Standards: Be present, focused, prepared, and punctual for all assigned matches, training sessions, and events. Maintain professional conduct when interacting with players, staff members, officials, supporters, and event personnel. Respect player privacy and follow team policies regarding the use and distribution of photographs. Meet established deadlines and communicate promptly when scheduling or technical issues arise. Remain flexible and prepared to adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, venues, and photography needs. Qualifications - Experience operating cameras and related equipment in live sports or event settings (preferred but not required). - Strong understanding of framing, angles, and basic lighting principles. - Ability to manage and organize large volumes of video files. - Dependable and punctual, especially for game days and scheduled practices. - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with coaching and media staff. - Willingness to travel to select away games as needed. - Basic technical troubleshooting skills for camera and video equipment. - Passion for sports and interest in supporting team development and storytelling. #J-18808-Ljbffr
