What You’ll DoAs a Sushi Line Cook at Mora Oak Park, you’ll be an essential part of our team, helping to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Food Preparation : Prepare sushi rice, season it with vinegar, and expertly slice fish such as tuna and salmon.
- Sushi Assembly : Roll maki, shape nigiri, and plate sashimi with precision and care.
- Station Maintenance : Keep your workspace spotless by cleaning work boards, knives, and refrigerators.
- Safety Practices : Ensure food freshness by tracking dates and following FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
We’re seeking a skilled professional who is ready to hit the ground running. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Knife Skills : A solid understanding of safe and effective knife handling techniques.
- Speed and Focus : The ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Physical Stamina : The endurance to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Experience : 1 to 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or sushi bar setting.
