Senior Manager, Enterprise Engineering & Process Excellence

Riot’s Enterprise Technology organization ensures Rioters have what they need to unlock their full potential, from secure and compliant systems to efficient business platforms that keep the company running smoothly. Enterprise Systems improves how Enterprise operates so Rioters can focus on building magic for players instead of navigating broken processes and fragmented systems.

As Senior Manager, Enterprise Engineering & Process Excellence, you will lead two horizontal capabilities that the rest of Enterprise Systems depends on: Enterprise Software Engineering, which designs, builds, and operates new technical capabilities for Enterprise, and Business Process Excellence, which assesses, redesigns, instruments, and continuously improves enterprise processes. The portfolio includes custom applications, the company directory and organizational data APIs, and integrations with business systems.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team of software engineers and business systems analysts. This is not a traditional enterprise systems role. We are building a function that reimagines enterprise engineering and process excellence for an AI-enabled organization. We use process mining and telemetry to continuously improve how work gets done, integration and automation with AI to reduce manual effort, and purpose-built applications to create capabilities that differentiate Riot . You will connect what the business needs, how processes should work, and how technology can deliver improvements.

You will partner closely with leaders across People Tech, Finance Tech, and Enterprise Data & AI, as well as business stakeholders in Enterprise functions.

The role reports to the Director, Enterprise Systems.

Responsibilities:

Software Engineering

• Set the strategy and technical direction for enterprise software engineering, integration, and automation.
• Lead the design, development, and operation of reliable applications, APIs, integrations, and automations that support critical enterprise capabilities.
• Establish strong engineering practices across architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, security, reliability, and production support.
• Develop the Integration & Automation Center of Excellence through reusable patterns, shared platforms, governance, and enablement across Enterprise Systems.

Business Process Excellence

• Build and lead a modern process excellence practice that uses process mining, telemetry, and AI-enabled tools to identify, prioritize, and measure improvement opportunities.
• Lead the redesign of complex, cross-functional enterprise processes, translating business needs into clear requirements and scalable solutions.
• Establish practical standards for process ownership, governance, measurement, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to deliver measurable improvements in cycle time, quality, automation, and Rioter experience.

People Leadership, Delivery & Partner Management

• Build and develop a multidisciplinary team of software engineers and business systems analysts, creating shared accountability from process discovery through production delivery.
• Manage priorities, delivery, and external partners across the portfolio, communicating outcomes, risks, and trade-offs clearly to business and technology leaders.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience delivering enterprise technology solutions.
• 12+ years of progressive experience across software engineering, enterprise platforms, process excellence, or technology-enabled transformation.
• 8+ years of experience managing software engineers, business systems analysts, or multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Experience owning the technical quality, architecture, and operational health of a portfolio of enterprise applications, APIs, and platforms, and designing new software capabilities that solve business and process problems.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, reliability, and production operations.
• Experience with cloud/data platforms such as AWS, GCP or Databricks; programming languages such as Go, or TypeScript; and modern application frameworks such as Next.js.
• Proven experience in business process assessment, redesign, modeling, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Experience using process data, telemetry, process mining, or operational analytics to identify opportunities and measure improvements.
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects or portfolios involving business, engineering, data, and operational stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and process concepts to business, technical, and executive audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience applying AI or agentic AI tools to enterprise process problems: process discovery, requirements generation, intelligent automation, or AI-augmented decision-making.
• Experience with process excellence methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma and process mining, intelligence, or modeling tools such as Celonis, ARIS, Signavio, or UiPath, to drive data-informed process improvement.
• Experience with enterprise integration and automation IPaaS platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar technologies.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification, or demonstrated equivalent experience running a delivery function.
• Familiarity with major enterprise SaaS platforms, and their integration ecosystems.
• Experience building or scaling a Center of Excellence or Community of Practice around integration, automation, or process standards.

These duties are directly related to essential operations, safety, trust, and compliance obligations within our organization. • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $229,200.00 - $319,500.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
