Per Diem Inpatient Pharmacist in Sumter, SC

Job Description

Provide critical pharmaceutical care as an Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist supporting a 60-bed facility with a specialized focus in behavioral health. This per diem opportunity requires coverage from late September through mid-October, including weekdays on-site with on-call duties and remote weekend on-call support.

Location: Sumter, SC

Schedule:

Training Week: September 21st (1 day required prior to start)
September 26-27: On-call coverage
September 28 – October 2: 8am-4pm shifts plus on-call after each shift
October 5-8: 8am-4pm shifts plus on-call after each shift
October 12-15: 8am-4pm shifts plus on-call after each shift
Weekend coverage involves remote on-call support including answering questions and verifying orders

Key Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
Refill Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and place orders through Cardinal system
Provide pharmaceutical support to inpatient behavioral health patients
Respond promptly to on-call inquiries during and after shifts
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a setting with no additional pharmacy staff on-site

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Active and clear South Carolina pharmacist license
Familiarity with order entry and automation systems is a plus, but training will be provided (Wellsky and Omnicell)
Ability to work independently in a small-staff environment
Strong communication skills for remote support on weekends
