Contract Duration: 3+ months contract with possible extension
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Hospital Credentialing: Required

Allina Credentialing - Vaccinations:

• Required: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and TB Test
• Strongly Recommended: COVID-19 and Flu

Job Summary:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients who visit for routine healthcare services and important health-related decisions. The PSR I is responsible for collecting quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.

The position involves direct patient contact and requires the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and performing blood collections in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR I performs daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collection and specimen processing following established practices and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and collect quality blood samples from patients.
• Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections .
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing .
• Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
• Follow established safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
• Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Demonstrate professionalism and maintain a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Provide excellent patient service and create a comfortable environment during specimen collection.
• Follow all applicable organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain flexibility based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime when required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent - REQUIRED.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience - REQUIRED.
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience - PREFERRED.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Strong patient service and communication skills.
• Keyboard/data-entry experience - REQUIRED.
• Ability to work a Monday-Friday schedule of 9:00 AM-5:30 PM.
• Flexibility to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
