Sales Specialist, Separately Managed Accounts

Job Overview We are hiring a Sales Specialist, Separately Managed Accounts to join our team. In this role you will partner and consult with financial advisors to guide the implementation of Columbia Threadneedle’s Separately Managed Account business, primarily our Direct Indexing solution. You will deliver product knowledge and usable sales approaches across BD, RIA, Private Bank, and Independent channels, creating brand recognition and demand. Key Responsibilities Partner with the intermediary wholesaling team and National Account team to achieve sales goals through effective territory planning and a consultative sales process. Support Regional Advisor Consultants and National Account Managers in sharing our portfolio management process and competitive advantage in tax‑loss harvesting solutions. Engage in conference and platform onboarding travel and travel with regional advisor consultants across the territory (10–20% of time). Provide high‑touch service in sales, account opening, maintenance, and performance review processes. Maintain a deep understanding of all accounts and distributors, including specific rules of engagement. Identify client needs and provide investment and business solutions to financial advisors. Requirements 5–7 years of experience in the financial services industry. 3+ years of sales experience. Licensing: a combination of Series7 and Series66 or Series7, Series63 and Series65. Proven ability to build strong relationships. Demonstrated ability to make successful and dynamic sales presentations. Preferred Qualifications Previous sales experience with SMAs, particularly direct indexing. Knowledge of tax‑loss harvesting platforms and competitors. Competency in cross‑channel consultative sales conversations. Professional designations such as CIMA or CFA. Travel & Work Location Travel required: 10–20% of time. Employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in‑office time; specific expectations will be discussed during the hiring process. Compensation Base salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year. Variable pay may be earned through bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives depending on performance.
