Job Summary

Capitol City Pawn is a licensed pawnshop and gun broker chain with locations across Pennsylvania and Florida. Since opening our first store in 2014, we have served over 15,000 customers by delivering honest transactions, expert item evaluations, and genuinely outstanding customer service. We hold a pawnbroker's license, a precious metals license, and a Federal Firearms License (FFL).

We are currently hiring a full-time Sales Associate for our Clearwater, FL location. This is a customer-facing role at the heart of our daily operations. You will help customers buy, sell, and pawn a wide variety of items — from jewelry and gold to electronics, tools, firearms, and collectibles — while ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to professionalism and respect.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers on the sales floor in a friendly, professional manner

Evaluate items brought in for purchase or pawn, including jewelry, gold, silver, coins, electronics, tools, firearms, antiques, vintage instruments, and sterling flatware

Process pawn loan transactions accurately under Florida's 90-day pawn loan terms and all applicable state regulations

Handle retail sales and help customers locate and purchase items from in-store inventory

Support jewelry repair and cleaning service intake — communicate service timelines and updates to customers

Receive, assess, price, and display incoming inventory

Assist customers with the gift card exchange program

Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and handle cash and payment transactions

Maintain a clean, organized, and secure store environment

Follow all Florida pawnbroker compliance requirements and FFL regulations for firearm-related transactions

Collaborate with the store manager and team to meet daily and monthly sales goals

Represent Capitol City Pawn's values of honesty, reliability, and customer-first service in every interaction

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you are comfortable talking to a wide range of customers

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced retail environment

Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale software

Must be able to pass a background check (required for FFL compliance)

Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred (Not Required — We Train the Right People)

Prior experience in retail, customer service, or direct sales

Familiarity with jewelry, precious metals, electronics, coins, or firearms

Experience in a pawn shop, resale, or secondhand retail environment

Knowledge of Florida pawnbroker regulations or willingness to learn

Any background in firearms, FFL handling, or gun sales is a strong advantage

The Florida market is one of our most active, and this location sees consistent daily traffic from customers looking to buy, sell, and access short-term pawn loans.
