Registered Nurse – Critical Care Unit in Olathe, KS

• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per week: 36 hours
• Employment Type: Contract
• Licensure: Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHF certifications required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience, including experience with balloon pump, CRRT, Impella, open hearts, PICC lines, and independent code response

Pay & Benefits:

• Pay rate: Competitive hourly rate; $88.50/hour before administration fee

What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality care to critical care and step-down patients in a hybrid ICU/PCU environment
• Monitor and manage complex medical devices such as balloon pumps and CRRT
• Draw labs and conduct assessments independently
• Respond to codes and emergencies confidently and efficiently
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float across units including ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, Telemetry, and ED as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records

What You Need:

• Valid Kansas RN license or Compact license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHF certifications (must be current)
• At least 2 years of recent ICU experience, including critical care procedures
• Experience with advanced cardiac and vascular devices, independent coding, and lab draws
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills

This assignment is at a leading healthcare facility in Olathe, KS, featuring a hybrid ICU/PCU setting with a diverse mix of neuro, spine, cardiac, and medical/surgical patients. The unit operates with a 2:1 patient ratio for critical patients, stepping up to 3:1 as needed. The role requires versatility, independence, and a proactive approach to patient care. Orientation includes hospital and Epic EMR training, with initial days dedicated to comprehensive onboarding.
