Lumber Yard Associate

PARR is a trusted source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We serve professional home builders of all sizes, ranging from custom to large production and multifamily builders. Pay: $18.47 - $22.41 per hour Responsibilities Safely, accurately, and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders of building materials. Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy. Receive delivered inventory, inspect paperwork for accuracy, and deposit inventory in designated locations. Inspect stock and returned items to ensure saleable quality. Puts stock away in the correct location and neatly. Provide required paperwork for change orders. Complete inventory adjustments. Participate in inventory preparation and post procedures. Read and follow instructions on picking tickets. Open and close warehouse and yard when necessary. Complete Blue-Volt training as required. Learn product knowledge and attend product knowledge meetings. Know product locations in the yard and warehouse. Read a measuring tape and understand product terminology and grading. Maintain forklift and yard cleanliness. Adhere to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Employees Handbook. Wear high‑visibility safety gear, safety shoes, and proper uniform. Perform daily lift inspections and safety audits of the forklift. Report all accidents, incidents and damaged products promptly. Keep aisles and exits clear and attach red safety flags to over‑length products. Participate on safety committee if needed. Understand weight, height and length limits to inform customers of safe handling or transport. Welcome and assist all customers promptly. Review and complete hold‑harmless forms with customers. Share product knowledge with customers. Pull orders and stage them for will calls. Work outside in a retail lumberyard location in all weather conditions. Qualifications OSHA Certified forklift license preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Knowledge of receiving and inventory control principles, practices, and protocols. Knowledge of dimension lumber, panel products and other building materials. Ability to read and interpret picking tickets and invoices. Strong attention to detail in a busy work environment. General knowledge and use of power tools. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
