Growing together.Position SummaryAs a Senior Systems Management Analyst, you will play a critical role in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure and application systems to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security. You will analyze system metrics, manage incident escalations, and develop automation scripts to streamline daily administrative tasks. In this role, you will embed enterprise-approved AI tools into your daily workflows to augment decision-making, automate repetitive tasks, and elevate service delivery quality across cloud and server environments. This position is an addition to the Claim Audit Platform (CAP) Platform Strategic Response (PSR) team, which provides support for the CAP application.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary ResponsibilitiesMonitor servers, applications, and network systems to ensure performance, availability, and system stabilityPerform routine maintenance, software updates, and security patches to mitigate vulnerabilities and support complianceAnalyze system logs, metrics, and performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement tuning and optimization strategiesRespond promptly to system alerts, troubleshoot production issues, document root cause analysis, and execute preventive measuresDevelop scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code tools to automate repetitive system management and administration tasksCollaborate with application, network, and security teams to resolve complex technical issues and support internal stakeholdersUse enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, enhance documentation, and drive continuous operational improvementEvaluate emerging tool capabilities and industry trends to inform infrastructure solution design and strategic optimizationYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications4+ years of experience in systems administration, system management, or IT infrastructure support across Linux or Windows environments4+ years of hands-on Azure cloud experience, including resource management, monitoring, and cost/performance optimization4+ years of experience configuring and managing monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana, Datadog) and alerting/incident escalation workflows4+ years of experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python4+ years of experience using code repositories (such as GitHub) for version control, automation scripts, or Infrastructure-as-Code2+ years of experience leveraging enterprise-approved AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft 365 Copilot) to augment coding, documentation, data analysis, or administrative workflowsPreferred QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experienceRelevant Azure or cloud administration certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate)Strong knowledge of security standards, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise compliance requirementsProven troubleshooting skills supporting high-availability production environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong track record of cross-functional team collaboration*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
