Step into an impactful role serving middle school learners for the upcoming fall semester. We are searching for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) holding their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to support students within a dynamic school-based environment from August 24th through December 22nd. This 35-hour per week contract position offers you the chance to make a real difference for students in a supportive educational setting near Hamden, CT.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active SLP license in Connecticut and CCC credentials required
• Prior experience with middle school caseloads is highly preferred
• Strong background administering and interpreting speech and language assessments
• Competence developing both long-term and short-term student goals
• Skill working collaboratively with educators and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer and interpret formal assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services
• Observe students in classroom settings, focusing on the social and academic impact of communication
• Design and implement individualized goals to address speech, language, and social communication needs
• Provide direct instruction to improve articulation, language processing, and pragmatic skills
• Train students in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices as needed
• Support students in general education classrooms, facilitating real-time communication practice
• Collaborate with families, offering resources and strategies for continued practice at home
• Maintain accurate session documentation for Medicaid billing requirements
