We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Staff Embedded Engineer Software based out of San Diego, CA. What You'll Get to Do: In this role you will design, develop, integrate and test software for our end-user customers and businesses, primarily focused on cryptographic software code bases. Specifically, you will be responsible for the design, architecture, development, and administration of embedded and real time systems. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. You will analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.This position is contingent upon Program Award, Clearance and Customer ApprovalBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM discipline with 14 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 12 years or a PhD with 10 years of experience.Experience with Crypto Systems or RustProficient in C/C++Proficient in Object Oriented programmingProficient in all areas of the formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testingExperience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applicationsExperience with RTOS designs and implementing secure software for embedded systemsExperience with ARM architectures and peripheralsExperience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and the Agile software development processMust currently hold a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience with Xilinx platforms (Zynq, Ultrascale+, and VERSAL)Familiarity with Xilinx tools (Vitis, Vivado)Experience with Yocto/PetalinxFamiliarity with HAIPE, OTNK, and/or IKEFamiliarity with latest NSA Security StandardsExperience with Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet)Experience with TCP/IP and common network configurationsExperience implementing cryptographic mechanisms using dedicated software librariesFamiliarity with Linux kernel driver development/modificationsFamiliarity with assembly languageFamiliarity with bare metal embedded device driversFamiliarity with PowerPC architectures and peripheralsFamiliarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGAFamiliarity with IBM tools (Rhapsody, DOORS, Clearcase)Familiarity with Green Hills AdaMultiFamiliarity with Static Analysis and Unit TestingCurrent active Top Secret ClearanceCurrent active SAP clearanceCurrently engaged in Networked Information SoftwarePrimary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
