This role provides technical leadership across server, virtualization, cloud, and identity platforms, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and operational excellence. The position operates within a complex, application-centric environment and works closely with Systems Administrators, Security, Network, and Business Services teams to deliver cohesive, enterprise-grade solutions.The Senior Systems Engineer will be required to have direct, long-term experience with the following technologies:VMWareApplication server support and deploymentWindows server administrationServer OS patch managementData backup system managementBasic networking conceptsIIS administrationRemote access methodologiesAutomation scripting (PowerShell / VB)Command line (PowerShell CLI / cmdlets)DNS / DHCPMicrosoft domain managementFile & print servicesAD and ADFSAdditionally, there are many technologies that this position must have exposure to, and in-depth experience is preferred:Database server managementLinux server administrationCisco networking experienceNetwork load balancingMicrosoft Azure cloud ecosystemMicrosoft Entra IDPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Promotes superior guest service.Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.Provides consistent developmental support, mentorship, and guidance to direct reports to ensure that they have the tools, information, and coaching necessary to conduct their work at the highest level.Monitors server performance and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.The position is responsible for working with and becoming knowledgeable in other operating systems and platforms as needed to meet business requirements.Responsible for technical architecture and makes recommendations related to system support.Is a top-level technical contributor with advanced knowledge and experience working with operating systems and related hardware and software.Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and support of servers, collaboration systems, storage area network, enterprise backup, virtual servers, and systems management environments.Presents information to management that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and equipment.Design: Works with management, peers, and vendors to design and implement hardware/software configurations, logical models, operational management models, and business continuity plans for systems under management.Support: Works with management, peers, and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and fault root cause analysis for systems under management.Technical Writing: Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under management. Authors and peer-reviews knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and their respective resolutions.Training: Provides and receives cross-discipline training in order to ensure maximum availability of systems under management.Continuous Improvement: Actively pursues opportunities, as an individual and as part of a group, to improve knowledge, tools, and processes for systems under management.Carries and responds to off-hours communications device, to provide 24x7 support for systems under management.Leads Change Management process and methodology as it relates to Systems AdministrationResponsible for enforcing the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as applicable to ilaniResponsible for understanding and ensuring PCI compliance requirements are effectively implementedSupports established enterprise Shared Services Agreement and adheres to ongoing collaboration efforts among sister properties.Responsible for maintaining and enforcing confidentiality and privacy rules pursuant to all applicable regulationsOther duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and eight (8+) years of Information Technology experience.ORAssociate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and ten (10+) years of progressive Information Technology experience.ORHigh School Diploma or GED and twelve (12+) years of progressive Information Technology experience.Minimum of two (2) industry-recognized technical certifications relevant to enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, or cloud platforms.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure in one or more jurisdictions.Advanced knowledge of operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoring and expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Demonstrated advanced experience working in a VMWare environment.Demonstrated advanced experience working with all aspects of Window Server and its components.Experience administrating AD and ADFS environments.Experience working with Cloud solutions in a hybrid environment.Advanced knowledge of:Windows Server administrationVirtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)Active Directory / Microsoft domain servicesDNS/DHCP and core networking conceptsBackup and disaster recovery systemsServer patching and lifecycle managementIIS administration and application server supportRemote access technologiesDemonstrated technical troubleshooting skills.Experience working with Mobile devices and support.Strategic thinking with hands-on executionStrong communication across technical and non-technical audiencesDetail-oriented with focus on reliability and securityAbility to operate in fast-paced, mission-critical environmentsCollaborative team mindset aligned with enterprise service deliveryDemonstrated knowledge working with Microsoft 365 and e-mail administrationMust possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related hardware, network and authentication services, and mass storage devices and their related technologies.Experience in using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems.Some travel may be required.Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft Certifications preferredVMWare Certifications preferredExperience working with VxRail preferredIn depth experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Arc, Azure Monitor, hybrid infrastructure) preferredFamiliarity with enterprise security platforms and vulnerability management preferredWork Shift:Any (United States of America)Wages:This role offers a starting wage of $110,789.00 annually. Candidates with relevant experience may be placed higher within the established pay range.
