Security Service Technician

What you will do A Johnson Controls Security Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert with knowledge and experience in intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. The technician will communicate effectively with customers, identify needs, provide repair plans and processes, inspect systems for proper functionality, and deliver written or digital reports to customers and the company. The technician will deliver high‑level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items, acting as a trusted advisor and providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service. How you will do it Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring. Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation. Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Perform repairs and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable). Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs, including battery replacement. Test operation of the system to the customer monitoring center to establish service connectivity. Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for Required 6+ years in low‑voltage or security industry. Excellent general knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record. High school diploma or GED. Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks. Well versed in access controls, CCTV, burglary, and fire alarms in commercial applications. Preferred Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb ladder. Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner. Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service. Experience with Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc. Salary and Benefits HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29-$40. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
