Your Role As a member of Farrell Roofing’s staff, you are very important to the success of our branches and to our company. Staff provide guidance and direction and oversee communication of the strategic plan and goals. Management Responsibilities Manage daily all drivers and mechanics. Coordinate warehouse labor operations to maximize the effectiveness of labor, material, and equipment resources.This includes pulling and loading material and equipment for roof jobs at the beginning, supporting for duration, and end of all projects. Discuss goals, schedule, roadblocks and the path forward for each warehouse team member. Promote a high degree of morale and motivation in the warehouse and repair shop. This includes cooperation, communication, and coordination between the warehouse, job site, and the office. Keep fleet vehicles inspected, paperwork updated, and road worthy. Keep forklifts and equipment ready for use on company property and jobsites. Ensure that all personnel perform their work accurately and that there is safety awareness in the warehouse and on the company grounds. Ensure that all team members receive the training needed to perform their duties. Coordinate training with Human Resources & Safety when necessary. Complete accident reports fully and immediately for all injuries to workers, ensure submission of such reports to the Safety Department by the next day, and take corrective action as necessary.Use Medcore and keep the Safety department informed. Day to day responsibilities Receive shipments of roofing and sheet metal material and equipment. Ensure that shipments are unloaded in a safe manner, confirm all material quantities, and check for damaged materials. Communicate with and involve the Roofing Superintendent when pulling and loading equipment to be sent to jobsites.Get foreman involvement if available prior to delivering to the jobsite. Keep material/inventory stored in an orderly fashion. Establish and maintain permanent areas for main stock items. Repackage material if necessary. Perform annual inventory counts. Keep company warehouses and grounds clean and free from trash: empty trash containers, sweep floors, and dispose of unusable material weekly. Maintain a stock of disposable tools: rags, brushes, roller frames/pads/handles, mop yarn, shovel handles, brooms/handles, etc. Make arrangements for painting, fence repair, plumbing, and electrical work. Complete MTOs when materials are sent to and returned from a job site. Maintain a stock of hand tools: shovels, wheelbarrows, axes, mops, etc. The Ideal Candidate for This Role Is Someone Who Is detail-oriented with an aptitude for doing things right the first time Desired Skills and Experience High School Diploma preferred General knowledge of roofing, trucking and mechanical products Previous experience in warehousing The Occupant of this Role Will Maintain consistent and reliable attendance (per attendance policy). Respond to communications in a timely manner. Keep an organized workspace and files including email and electronic and paper files.
