Student Nurse Intern

Overview Under the delegation and supervision of the registered nurse, the Student Nurse Intern will administer basic, direct and/or indirect patient care and perform various procedures and related services necessary to the care and needs of patients/customers. The intern will also perform clerical duties and other department functions as directed. Eligibility Nursing students enrolled in a two‑year or less program and within nine months of graduation are eligible. Applicants must complete a Genesis employment application with an attached resume and an essay describing their nursing career goals, and may be required to participate in a panel interview. Responsibilities Personal patient care Vital signs, FSBS, input/output Bladder scan Foley placement / Straight Cath EKG Phlebotomy Telemetry reading Staff assistant tasks Discontinue IVs Dressing changes Documentation of all tasks Purposeful patient rounding SMART equipment Assist with literature review for evidence‑based practice Work Schedule Interns will work 16 hours per pay period with flexible scheduling (4, 8 or 12‑hour shifts). The schedule includes two weekend shifts per six‑week cycle and one holiday per year. Benefits Competitive wages and a streamlined orientation process with weekend and evening opportunities.
