Job Description

• We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in materials operations, warehousing, and inventory control and a proven ability to support laboratory operations by ensuring compliant, timely, and accurate material flow.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with management and Material Operations & Lab Services to meet operational goals while upholding safety and quality protocols.
• Maintain adherence to GLP, DOT, and HazMat regulations.
• Manage inventory levels for consumables, reagents, chemicals, and glassware across departments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure availability of reagents, equipment, and resources for projects.
• Minimize process interruptions due to warehouse operations.
• Follow handling, storage, and temperature requirements for materials.
• Verify incoming materials paperwork and condition, and prepare receiving documents.
• Pack materials for safe shipment and prepare shipping documents.
• Troubleshoot operational errors and support day-to-day operations.
• Use required safety procedures and equipment, and participate in safety training and awareness.
• Engage in cross-functional training within Materials Operations as required.
• Identify and participate in process improvements for warehouse functions, equipment, or procedures.
• Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone, and in person, serving as a contact between customers and Material Operations & Lab Services staff.
• Attend departmental meetings as scheduled and provide routine updates to supervisors and leads.
• Adapt to changing priorities, multi-task workload and projects, and ensure daily work completion.
• Maintain clean equipment and work areas, and demonstrate proficiency with material handling equipment and relevant applications.
• Meet timeline commitments, communicate status and issues, and adhere to applicable laws, GNE programs, and DOT compliance.
• Meet compliance requirements for training, including PIT training, and demonstrate safety proficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, plus one of the following: completion of college-level coursework in biological and/or physical sciences, or an AA/AS in a related science major.
• Material packing/handling, inventory management, or warehousing experience preferred. No minimum experience required.
• Time management, organization, independent work capability, and strong customer service.
• Problem-solving and interpersonal skills with clear verbal and written communication.
• Initiative with focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling is helpful.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as required.

Preferred Skills:

• Passion for continuous improvement. LEAN or Operational Excellence training is a plus.
• Collaboration and teamwork in cross-functional settings.
