Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Self-Scheduling (balanced to unit needs)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients on an 18-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:5
• Administer and manage common drips and medications including chemotherapy, Heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix; titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips as needed
• Operate and monitor high-flow respiratory equipment as commonly encountered on the unit
• Conduct hourly rounding and participate in bedside shift report as a key component of the patient experience
• Float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care as needed
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurse, PT/OT, RN Case Manager, Social Worker, Educator, and Dietitian

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; strong PCU experience accepted (Oncology experience preferred)
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required for contract continuation
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a driver's license will be used to verify eligibility
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
