Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a dynamic, supportive school environment near Thibodaux, LA. Two rewarding contract opportunities are available, starting immediately through May 25, 2027. Each position offers a structured schedule of approximately 7:40 am to 3:00 pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), totaling 35 hours per week.

Position Details:

• Position 1: Work with K-1st grade students in a self-contained classroom, supporting a caseload of 5-6 children with significant needs.
• Position 2: Teach in a Montessori campus setting for K-6th grade students, also in a self-contained classroom.

What you’ll bring:

• Current licensure and credentials required to serve as a Special Education Teacher.
• Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies and significant behaviors is strongly preferred.
• Passion for helping students with diverse needs achieve progress and success.
• Adaptability and creativity in modifying curriculum and strategies based on individual learner profiles.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and school professionals.
• Dedication to fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment where every student is valued and supported.

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP.
• Monitor and document progress, behavior, and achievement using evidence-based strategies.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes.
• Implement proactive behavior management and support plans with empathy.
• Communicate consistently with families and caregivers regarding progress and goals.
