Participate in project bidding, ensuring competitive and accurate bids that align with our company's standards and goals. Utilize value engineering to optimize the balance between cost, quality, and project timeline. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Conduct cost analysis and budgeting, effectively managing resources to ensure project profitability. Perform dirt estimating and manage abutment-related tasks. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project success. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices, implementing them into your work wherever possible. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating or a related role. Proficiency in concrete, flatwork, concrete structures, and earthwork. Experience in project bidding, value engineering, blueprint reading, cost analysis, and budgeting. Knowledge of dirt estimating and abutment is a plus. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels. Proficiency in using various estimating software and tools. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar certification is a plus.
