Senior Sourcing Manager

Job Description: We are looking for a sourcing category leader who can drive the business, develop suppliers and be strategic & tactical! If you get excited about this, then talk to us! We are seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager, Private Brands who will drive sourcing for categories within our cat consumables portfolio and collaborate with internal stakeholders to monitor the performance of our manufacturing partners. You will be responsible for driving the long-term strategy and execution including new business development, on-going assortment management and delivering a best-in-class Customer Experience. You should have depth in supplier relationship management and know how to develop and lead category strategies including supplier segmentation, operational performance and cost savings opportunities. You should have a track record for leading improvements across the supply chain while raising the bar on quality, fill rates, cost, and transparency. Attention to detail, eye for creativity and innovation, developing long term partnerships with manufacturers, and strong negotiation skills are some of the key characteristics to be successful. You will work cross-functionally with a talented team of stakeholders including brand managers, merchandising partners, R&D, instock management, quality and finance to drive our private brands business. Come join a fast-paced business within Chewy! What you’ll do: Drive category ownership including supplier selection, operational performance, relationship management and financial goals. Influence up, down and across the organization to improve category metrics and supplier performance. Partner on the evaluation, design, and development of sourcing capabilities across source to pay. Contribute to roadmap development by bringing robust insights on market trends and industry leading technologies to enhance our assortment portfolio. Manage relationships with external suppliers upholding high operating and quality standards. Travel domestically and represent Chewy in industry forums, shows, etc. Drive cost and quality improvements. Be an excellent negotiator. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with domestic and international federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances. Conduct responsible sourcing across all products, drive sustainability, and high-quality product development. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong Analytical skills and detail orientation. What You’ll Need: 5+ years of sourcing category ownership, preferably in e-commerce or Retail. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing in Food space (preferred pet food). In-depth working knowledge of co-manufacturing relationships. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Experience with data driven decision making and cost P&L ownership. Ability to travel 30%+. Bonus (if Applicable) MBA Private Label Experience in e-commerce or Retail The base salary range for this role is $118,500 - $189,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
